The popular legal drama Justice For All will be back on SABC2 for a new season on Thursday at 7.30pm.

It returns with more stars, new stories and a new emphasis on the investigation and prosecution of crimes which violate human rights. This makes for intensity and pace as it involves not only lawyers, but also police and prosecutors. New too is the increased emphasis on children - as both victims and perpetrators.

The prime-time drama series is produced by Peter and Margaret Goldsmid of Southern Exposure. Peter also wrote and directed the 13 episodes, with Tumelo Phadi contributing to the writing.

The drama centres on the work and personal lives of lawyers Mike Mohapi (Vusi Kunene), Kate Hansen (Fiona Ramsay) and prosecutor Dineo Mbatha (Gloria Moshoeshoe), through their passionate involvement in human rights cases.

The new emphasis on investigation and prosecution of crimes allowed the producers to create lead roles for Lieb Bester as Dries Alberts, a single-minded investigator for the Sexual Offences Unit of the SAPS, and for Sello Motlaung as the wily Captain Jake Mkhonza.

The malevolent, corrupt cop, Madhi Mahlangu (Samson Khumalo), makes a prominent return. This formidable opponent of Mike and Dineo develops an antagonism against them that builds to a climax which threatens Mike's life.

Among those making memorable guest appearances are Florence Masebe, Lillian Dube, Sechaba Morojele, Terence Bridgit, Sibongile Nojila, Simo Magwaza, Charlotte Butler, Richard van der Westhuizen, David Dennis, Hanli Rolfes, Marcel van Heerden and Sean Else.

The series also introduces a host of talented unknowns in the demanding children's parts.
